Paul comes to us from Liberty ARC where he is the director of public relations and development. Paul has a bachelors degree from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. And he also earned his Masters degree from the University of Rhode Island. He resides in Delmar with his wife Rose and 6 kids! Welcome to the club Paul! Pictured with Paul is club President Damaris Carbone.
Congratulations again to Mike Kelly of Amsterdam! He was our grand prize winner of the Polaris side by side! Thank you everyone for your support! This years event was a sell out, and the proceeds will help so many of the organizations and programs we support in the community!
A fine time was had by all at our annual installation dinner. We accomplished a lot of business: installation of new officers, and many awards were conferred. Congratulations to our graduating seniors and Rotary scholarship winners. Congratulations to the first time ever husband and wife Citizen of the Year awardees: John and Linda Naples. Thank you for all that you do for our community. Additionally, congratulations go out to our very own Tim O'Brien who was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow and Rotarian of the Year, a more humble Rotarian is hard to find. Finally, Sheriff Jeff Smith was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow for his work during the pandemic. On a side note (side by side?) congratulations to our raffle winners: First prize went to Mike Kelly of Amsterdam; second prize went to Brian Sisco of the Town of Florida and third prize went to Patty Johnstone of Sharon Springs who generously donated her prize to the Montgomery County Office of the Aging for their meals program. The real winner was our club because our event was a sell-out this year thanks to your generosity. These funds will enable our club to continue to support our mission in the community. Thank you all for your participation. Rotarians are everywhere throughout our community!
Meet Sheriff Jeff Smith! Jeff joined the club in August of 2019 and in that short time period he has jumped right in as a very active member! You will see him at every fundraiser we have had from the fish fry, the chicken parm dinner, and he has set the bar for ticket sales for our side by side raffle this year! Jeff is a lifelong Montgomery County resident and his career is a history dedicated to public service! He is married to Becky (Buddles) Smith, and he has two children Justin and Ashley. And we hear he spoils his grandchildren! Jeff is a rising star in the club, and thank you for all that you do for our club and Montgomery County! If you want to make a positive difference in the community, join the Amsterdam Rotary Club today and you can meet great people like Jeff! Welcome to our newest Amsterdam Rotary club member Rich Ruberti! Rich is the school superintendent of the Greater Amsterdam school district, and he is a Gloversville native. Rich attended the State University of New York at Cortland where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics. He also earned a master's degree in elementary education from the College of Saint Rose and his school district administrative credentials at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, North Adams, MA. Rich lives in the town of Mayfield with his wife Katrina and their teenage son and daughter. Welcome to the club Rich!
Meet Brigitta Giulianelli. Bri has been with the club now for several years. She is the executive director of the Foundation at St. Mary's Healthcare. At her job at the hospital she brings excellence to everything she gets involved in! And as a club member we are so lucky to have her on board! For the past couple of years she has been the co-director of our annual variety show. She spends 100's of hours each year planning, directing, and choreographing the show! Her efforts help the club raise tens of thousands of dollars each year to help so many organizations in our community while drawing the people of Amsterdam together either through performing on the stage or enjoying the show. We can't thank her enough!
If you want to make a positive difference in the community, join the Amsterdam Rotary Club today and you can meet great people like Bri! Today we inducted our newest member to the Amsterdam Rotary Club, Mr. Jason Packer from Hill & Markes! Jason also gave our club members a classification speech on the history of Hill & Markes, and the products they sell from Binghamton to the Canadian border! Welcome to the club Jason!

He and his staff bring random acts of kindness and many valuable essential services to the seniors his agency serves in our county. Dave is a past President, a Paul Harris Fellow, and currently serves on our club's board of directors. Dave is a man of many talents! You probably have seen him singing and dancing in the club's annual variety show, and he is always there for our adopt-a-highway clean up! And we hear that he spoils his grand children Shiloh & Easton! Thank you for all do for our club and for the community Dave!
